Hi everyone!
Let's start the month of May with a short but important update. Late last week, we updated all digital editions to add the WAR III and MUTANT volumes. We also slightly modified the two other volumes, so don't hesitate to re-download with the links that were sent. If by any chance you did not receive these links, write me a message (not a comment) and I'll manually send them to you. Also check your spam box as too many times, those Kickstarter messages get sent there.
As for the books, they are currently at the printer. I'll update you guys as I get news from there and when the containers leave Asia to get to North America.
If you happen to have other books you're waiting from us, here's the status:
• Zorro Remastered > Coming to our fulfillment center by 5/18. Shipping scheduled to start immediately after with delivery to you between late May and mid-June.
• Harbinger HC >Coming to our fulfillment center by 5/18. Shipping scheduled to start immediately after with delivery to you between late May and mid-June.
• Art of Eduardo Risso >Coming to our fulfillment center by 5/18. Shipping scheduled to start immediately after with delivery to you between late May and mid-June.
• X-O Manowar Black White & Gold > We're putting the finishing touches to the book right now. It's still on track for delivery this December, as planned.

Our newest campaign, Nameless Kingdom, starts THIS Thursday, May 7th! We're already working on this one and pressuring everybody to be able to produce three volumes of the series with printing and delivery THIS year. Yes. As I said in a previous update, Alien Books is making moves. We're re-organizing, re-planning, re-wiring, to make sure all of you are served in time and we deliver the best possible content.
Also, be sure to check what we're releasing in comic book stores. The new Zorro series by Howard Chaykin and Jorge Fornes starts on May 20! Issue #1 comes with terrific variant covers by Juan Fereyra, Francesco Tomaselli and Rodrigo Yoshimiya (manga variant).
If your favorite comic shop hasn't ordered it yet, PLEASE, ask them to carry our titles! And if you don't have a comic book store near you, all online stores like Midtowncomics.com, goldenapplecomics.com, thirdeyecomic.com, g-mart.com and soooooo many more, will ship it to you.
Actually, that update was not so short 😛.

Not just another update! ("Where's My Book" edition)

Hi everyone!
If you don't know me yet, I'm AL, your new friend at Alien Books. I'm your point of contact, your source for information on present and future projects on Kickstarter and here to update you on the status of your orders.
There's been a lot of changes and we have not been spared by world drama. First, it was our former distributor going bankrupt and seizing all of our inventory. Then it was issues with fulillment, then transportation… Argh. Can a publisher catch a break here?
Anyhow. You have questions, the biggest one being: "DUDE, WHERE IS MY BOOK?". Glad you asked.
We have been working hard behind the scenes to catch up and make it right by YOU. Me being hired is one element, but there's so much more that the Alien Books team is doing to make it up to you guys.
NOW… We designed a system in "print blocks" that is very easy to understand.
On the diagram above, you can see our last five Kickstarter campaigns. For efficiency, time and to ensure the best quality, we print multiple books at the same time. It is a crucial part of the equation that guarantees that all the books shipped from our printer in Asia arrives in North America smoothly and conveniently.
For example, the SPRING block has been printed early this month, shipped and is now cruising towards our fulfillment in Utah. Delivery is expected at the tail end of May which means books should be in your mailboxes in June.
And the books featured in the SUMMER black will be with you before Christmas.
Two things to keep in mind…
1- Not everyone will get their book at the same time. International backers may receive some of their rewards earlier as their books are shipped directly from Asia.
2- Add-ons and extra are produced in other facilities and will arrive separately. So, please do not panic if not everything is included in the same box.
I don't know about other publishers, but we feel we need to restart on the right foot and it starts with absolute transparency. Alien Books is a very dedicated small team. We can make mistakes but we'll always try to do our best to satisfy you. :)

WAR III and MUTANT Production Update!

Hi everyone,
Happy New Year!
With BLACK STAR and GANGRENE files completed, the work continues to color, translate, and letter both WAR III and MUTANT.
Once a book is completed and approved, we’ll upload the digital files to BackerKit and alert you all via Kickstarter Update that the digital rewards are ready.
We’re currently projecting that work will be completed next month.
After the final issue is completed, we’ll be able to get the box set printed and work towards fulfilling all the physical rewards ASAP.
We’ll keep you updated in case we run into any delays.

Production Update - WAR III
Colors are nearing completion for WAR III!
Once we finalize the colors of the “We the Heroes” story, we’ll be able to begin lettering.
Please take a look at some unlettered / in-progress samples below, featuring new colors by Brushu Studio.
Production Update - MUTANT
Our letterer is currently working on MUTANT.
Some of these pages need to be cleaned up and color corrected to match the look of the other stories in this volume, so it’s taking some additional time to complete.

We expect to have MUTANT completed in a few weeks and will send the digital version out as soon as it’s finalized.

BackerKit Surveys and Digital Editions of BLACK STAR & GANGRENE Are Hitting This Week!

We're here with a couple of important updates - sorry to keep you waiting!
BackerKit Surveys Arrive THIS WEEK!
We will be moving this campaign over to BackerKit, which helps us keep track of the digital and physical rewards fulfillment. We'll continue to post updates on Kickstarter when we have news to share but please make sure you fill out the BackerKit Survey when it hits your inbox later this week.
We have begun our "smoke test" for the survey, which means some of you will receive emails today. The rest of you will get your surveys by the end of the week.
Please complete the survey & checkout process as soon as you can, as that will help us determine the final print count for these books and enable us to send you the digital and physical rewards without delay!
Digital Editions of GANGRENE and BLACK STAR arrive this week!
Once you complete your BackerKit survey and we lock your orders, you'll receive links from BackerKit that will let you download the digital editions of GANGRENE and BLACK STAR to the device of your choice.
Your pledge must be fully paid off and your order locked before the digital distribution can begin! We anticipate being able to have these files go out by the end of this week.
If you run into any trouble accessing these files after getting the notification from BackerKit, send us an email: [email protected] and we'll assist.
General Production Update
Work on GANGRENE and BLACK STAR is completed, so we're over halfway done!
Our colorists are continuing to work on the WAR III stories while we finish translating and cleaning the pages for MUTANT.
We are aiming to have both of these volumes completed in early 2026, so we can hit our projected timeframe for printing and delivery of the box set in Spring.

Next Steps
With the fundraising period over, we're going to take a deep breath and get back to work on the other crowdfunding projects that we launched this year, as we're nearing the print dates for a variety of titles, including The Art of Eduardo Risso, Zorro Remastered, and the Harbinger Classic Omnibus.
The editorial team will continue their work on translations and coloring for the stories that are included in the WAR III and MUTANT graphic novels.
GANGRENE and BLACK STAR are already finished, so we're in good shape as we proceed ahead.
BackerKit & Digital Files
We'll be using BackerKit to manage post-campaign fulfillment, deliver digital files, and offer additional add-ons.
It'll take us some time to set up the survey, so there's nothing you need to do right now, but please be aware that if you have a private Apple ID email associated with your Kickstarter email, you may want to update it so you can get emails when we move over to BackerKit!
It's a new Valiant Comics anthology and features talent from across the industry lending their voices to Aric of Dacia, the Visigoth warrior who wields the universe's most powerful suit of extraterrestrial armor!
The team is getting ready for New York Comic Con and working on some news and announcements ahead of the show.
We'll keep you posted with regular updates on this project going forward and let you know when to expect your digital files and when the books will be heading to print.
